‘Daddy Cool’

Daddy Cool –

I painted this as a portrait of my father. It was the first time I’ve ever tried to intentionally make one of my paintings look like anyone in specific and it was a challenge I set myself, which I feel as if I accomplished pretty well for my first attempt. I based it on an old photo of my dad when he was roughly my age and titled it ‘Daddy Cool’ after the song by Boney M. I chose this as a title as this was one of the tracks we always used to play when I was younger in the car and so thought it was perfect for this piece.
