'Temperance'

This card represents balance and the perfect harmony that comes from the union of dualities. In the original card there is an angel placed between water, symbolising the subconscious and land symbolising the material world which I’ve also painted in mine. The angel is holding two cups which represent the super and subconscious mind which I’ve adapted to be two circular fans which are shown to be simultaneously spinning. Echoing the idea of balance and patience. It’s a movement I imagined to be quite like juggling but with two circular motions simultaneously while in opposing directions. In the beginning I’d assume it to be quite challenging potentially stressing but once mastered could create a feeling of calm and stability. It’s this balanced, focus that this card is often used to symbolise so I wanted to echo this with the colours I used. Contradicting my usual clashing and contrasting pallet with a softer more calm variety of shades.
