'The Tower’
The tower card traditionally is the card that, to most peoples surprise, is one of the darkest of cards. Though most people find the death card more daunting (when it actually tends to signify more positive sentiments such as new beginnings) it is actually the tower that is used to symbolise the darker side of the major arcana deck. Typically used to signify Chaos, destruction, unexpected change and revelations. It is traditionally seen to show a tower at the top of a mountain that has been struck by lightning causing it to burst in flames while you see people jumping out from desperation. But the tower is a symbol for the ambition that is constructed on faulty premises and the destruction it brings is usually directed at something that was built on false beliefs and foundations of unrealistic goals and dreams. Clearing out the old ways to follow with renewal and creation. So I wanted my tower card to represent the tower that was built after this ritual of cleansing. A tower built on something more honest with the support of others. But of course, like with every card there has to be a duality and mine focuses more on the idea that the people you meet on the way up will also be the people you encounter on the way down. So it’s important to never lose sight of who you are and your initial goals while still making sure to keep your integrity.
